History of Felony

The term felony is type of crime that is normally committed in the United States of America; it is some serious types of crime and at the same time in the different other common laws countries. If we go a little deep into the beginning of this word Felony then we will come to know that Felonies were actually crimes found in England where this term was actually originated from the Common Laws of the England and used for the confiscation of the goods as well other land of any convict in that country and the other all crimes were called misdemeanors. Now in the modern age a lot of the common Laws countries have now finished this terminology and replaced it with the other terms like the Summary offence and indictable offence. But in the United States of America there is still this terminology is being used in the distinction of the crimes, felony crime as a serious crime and the misdemeanors crimes are some ordinary types of crimes.
Distinction among Crimes

There a indeed a distinction on the crimes especially in the United States of America the crimes those fall in the Felonies crimes are the following crimes in the crime dictionary of the American crime, aggravated assault and or battery, arson, burglary, illegal drug use or sales, grand theft, robbery, murder, and rape. These are all the crimes available in the list of the Felonies crimes. Again, there is another division in the felonies crimes considered in America we can see another distinction in the felonies crimes, this is violent and the non violent types of crimes. There are such types of the crimes are also found in especially in America those are very flippant nature, we cannot distinguished properly whether these are felonies crimes or misdemeanors crimes because the nature of the crime is same. So we can handle them according to the circumstances. For example, the keeping of the deadly weapon perhaps generally considered legal, but taking the same type of weapon into a prohibited area like a building of a children school may thought to be a dangerous and serious kind of offence, irrespective to this fact whether or not there is present any type of bad intention of using the same weapon.
Felonies Crimes in States of America

In different states of the United States of America, felonies crimes are also categorized in the different classes like the class A, B, and so on. This classification is done due to the seriousness of the crime as well as the severity of the punishment assigned to such crimes. There are some examples of the classification made in the United States of America, these are E, D, C, B, A-II, and A-I, that is thought to be the most severe crime. There are some other classifications like the felonies numerically, e.g., capital, life, 1st degree, 2nd degree, 3rd degree, state jail or class 1, 2, etc. These are not the fixed punishments and the classification in all America, there may be some difference present in the different States, and this difference may be calculated by the legislature. Normally, legislature fixes the punishment for all type of felony class.
Punishment in the Felony crimes

There are criminal actions are divided into main two classes. This classification is mainly done the severity of the crime that has been committed in the United States of America. Those crimes which are categories in the misdemeanor by the States are normal crimes have the less severity; these crimes are charged normally with the one year or less then one year imprisonment. But those crimes fall in felonies crimes these are the crimes have serious violent nature are categorized in serious crimes, the punishment of these crimes are suggested over one year punishment or sentenced to death in some cases.
