Our aim is to go beyond donations or one-time events, and foster a culture of employee volunteering and thereby to improve education opportunities, and strengthen the talent pipeline in India,” said Michael Kuehner, Head, Nokia Siemens Networks, sub-region India. Bridge the Gap The program leverages Nokia Siemens Networks’ expertise in technology training and is implemented at two levels: Nokia Siemens Networks will provide six NDMC schools with access to networking facilities, allowing the schools to participate in the benefits of the information society. The program is a pioneering concept in teaching environmental education, citizenship values as well as apprenticeship skills and technology inputs to students who are otherwise kept away from such experiences.

The partnership also enables delivery of invoice data from the supplier’s accounting system via the OB10 network into the Basware Business Transactions e-Invoicing service, and further to Basware Enterprise Purchase to Pay solutions, allowing users to receive accurate, real-time invoice data. This is achieved through OB10’s best practice supplier enrollment, data integration and mapping, enabling invoice data to be extracted from a supplier’s billing system, using their existing data format, and sending it to Basware’s e-Invoicing service, eliminating the need for customers to process, manually key in or store paper invoices. Jamie Gunn, CEO of OB10, noted that the two solution providers have a history of joint implementations. “We … look forward to replicating those successes rapidly and over a wider geographic footprint,” Gunn said.

Mr Russell added: “A lot of people have found this year’s display a bit disappointing but very little money was donated towards the cost. We’ll be holding several fundraising events next year and the Christmas 2009 decorations will be totally different.”

Parish council chairman Malcolm Wade said of the Pylewell lights: “It’s an old set and they’re just not fixable. If they were we’d have done it straight away. Hythe looks as wonderful as it always does – it’s just that one little bit of the village that’s affected.”
