Law review
A law review is a very important document that has been published by the students of the law or it can be published by the bar association. In this law document, we may see that the very learned types of scholarly journals are published by these men of law. The main idea of focusing in this law review is to discuss the issues regarding the law prevailing in the masses and those are needed to be solved. Normally these reviews can be presented by those learned scholars especially teaching in the law schools a well as in the different institutions, these writers may be students of the law but we will not say these documents then review but commentary, or notes.
There is a great difference is present in the law reviews and those law journals those are published in the Daily news papers, we should be careful and need not to mingle these law reviews with them. These law journals cover up all the daily law practices in the jurisdiction.
History of the Law Review in the United States
The University of Pennsylvania Law Review in the United States of America is the oldest law review that has been publishing the reviews since from the year of 1852. This is the very famous law review institution in the United States of America. Another most of the important as well the storied publication that is publication the law reviews in the United States of America is the Albany Law Review. This publication started working in the year of the 1875, it is the successor to the Albany law school journal, and it was the very first law journal that has been edited by the students. After that we can see that the most renowned institution that is publishing the law reviews in the country is Howard Law Review, it started publishing in the year of 1887. Then we can count in the under lines that there are a lot of review publisher institution were present in the United States of the America, like the Yale Law Journal, beginning in 1891, the Columbia Law Review, successor to the Columbia Jurist, beginning in 1885; the West Virginia Law Review, beginning in 1894, the Dickinson Law Review, beginning in 1897, the Michigan Law Review, beginning in 1902, Northwestern University Law Review, beginning in 1906; Georgetown Law Journal, beginning in 1912, the Virginia Law Review, beginning in 1913, the California Law Review, beginning in 1912 and the nation’s first law review published west of Illinois, the Tulane Law Review, beginning in 1916, the Texas Law Review, beginning in 1921; the Temple Law Review, beginning in 1927; the University of Chicago Law Review, beginning in 1933; and the Stanford Law Review, founded in 1948.
Student-run publications in United States
Students of the law are doing something very extra ordinary in the field of journals publication in the United States of America. Again there is a strong discomfort ness is prevailing in some people in the America with the thought that the major law periodicals are managed as well as edited by the law students. This is looking an uneven situation in the United States of America but it is creating the way and getting stronger. In the year of 1990s, the American Bar Association followed the lawsuits and it began to manage its own law practitioners journals with the schools of the law and it began to citing the publications of the school journals among these publications are the Administrative Law Review, The International Lawyer, Public Contract Law Journal, and The Urban Lawyer. Though these students are doing an excellent job in the managing and editing these law journals but criticism about these students is still going on.
