In Islamic law after the qualifications for a just war have been met, political agreements might become null and void but commercial agreements certainly are not. Keeping commercial agreements valid even in a state of war certainly closes the door on the human desire to wage warfare simply for commercial gain. It’s rules like that and others covering even minute issues such as environmental restraints on armed conflict, that earned Islam the loving admiration of so many around the globe, thousands of miles from and centuries after its founding.
